The Canadian Press article “Controversial Islamic school ordered out of Toronto public school property” raises some interesting issues. The TDSB is the largest registered charity in Canada with over $3 billion in revenue. Many people don’t know but lots of school boards are registered charities.
Here is the TDSB filing on CharityFocus:

It is a good idea for charities to be careful about who uses their facilities and for what. This applies to facilities owned by Canadian charities in Canada and abroad.
Here is a quote from CRA in a different context:
“Do you know who uses your facilities and for what purpose—for example, your office or meeting space, name, bank account, credit cards, Web site, computer system, telephone or fax—what they are saying, and what materials they are distributing or leaving behind?”
It seems that the TDSB acted appropriately in dealing with the complaints quickly after being made aware of the problem.
