Here is the CRA Notice:
The Charities Directorate at the Canada Revenue Agency will be conducting free Charities Information Sessions in your region and would like to invite your charity to participate.
These sessions are an excellent opportunity for your treasurer, new board members, or volunteers to learn about your charity’s legal obligations.
This year’s sessions focus on helping charities understand key obligations under the Income Tax Act and changes related to the 2010 federal budget announcements. During the sessions, we will cover the following topics:
• Overview of the Charities and Giving Web Pages
• Form T3010, Registered Charity Information Return—Line by Line Review (including changes as a result of 2010 federal budget announcements)
• Gifting and Receipting
• GST/HST for Charities
• Provincial presentations (in some cities)
You must register on-line as seating is limited. To find out which cities we will visit and how to register, see 2010 Charities Information Sessions. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/chrts-gvng/chrts/cmmnctn/sssns/nvttn-eng.html
