Over the last few years we have helped many Ontario non-profit corporations obtain copies of their governing documents. If you wish to do it yourself you can request microfiche copies of your governing documents from the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services’ Central Production and Verification Branch.
The request can be made by fax or mail to:
Ministry of Government and Consumer Services
Central Production and Verification Services Branch
393 University Avenue, 2nd Floor
Toronto, ON M5G 2M2
Telephone: 416-314-8880 or 1-800-361-3223
Fax: (416) 314-0102
The request should include the corporation’s name and Ontario Corporation Number. If the request is sent by fax, the microfiche will need to be picked up in 3 business days at:
375 University Avenue, 2nd Floor
You will need to bring a copy of the faxed request and a cheque or money order in the amount of $10 when you pick up the microfiche.
If you mail the request, you will need to enclose a cheque or money order in the amount of $10 and the microfiche will be mailed to you within 4 to 6 weeks.
You can also obtain copies of your governing documents from 3rd party service providers but these services usually require that you have an account with the service provider and charge additional fees.
Keep in mind that what you will receive from the Ontario government is microfiche and you will need to have a microfiche reader and printer to be able to view and print the documents.
