We recently contacted Corporations Canada regarding the updated statistics on continuances and dissolutions under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act ('CNCA'). Apparently in March there has been an increasing number of entities that have transitioned to the CNCA. Here are the current figures:
Total number of not-for-profit corporations under the CNCA: 20,751 (as of April 5 (includes new incorporations and transitions)
Total number of remaining not-for-profit corporations under the Canada Corporations Act ('CCA'): 3,052 (as of April 5)
Total number of CCA dissolutions (failure to transition): 9,349 (as of March 31)
Total number of transitions from CCA to CNCA: 12,641 (as of March 31)
