A Canadian Senator Nicole Eaton has been commenting on Canadian charities and a number of senators have spoken in agreement and in disagreement. I wish the Senate had access to better information on the charitable sector.
For example they may find “So how much do Canadian charities receive from foreign sources according to the T3010 Returns?” blog post helpful.
Here is a note from Imagine Canada that is following the comments:
“Senator Eaton spoke on February 28 and her comments can be found here.
A number of Senators have since joined the debate:
- John Wallace (Conservative, New Brunswick),
- Doug Finley (Conservative, New Brunswick),
- Daniel Lang (Conservative, Yukon),
- Grant Mitchell (Liberal, Alberta) and
- Larry Smith (Conservative, Quebec).”
