We recently reviewed the private foundations contained on the T3010 Registered Charity Information Return for 2013, 2014 and 2015.   We looked at who had the largest expenditures, what their total assets were and the percentage of total assets that were disbursed in that particular year.  Here are the results:

Canadian Private Foundations – Who had the largest total expenditures in 2013?

Canadian Private Foundations – Who had the largest total expenditures in 2014?

Canadian Private Foundations – Who had the largest total expenditures in 2015?

These articles were prepared for a presentation Mark gave at the ARNOVA conference in Washington DC on November 19, 2016 on "The Foundation Payout Debate: Comparative Perspectives on Distribution, Perpetuity and the Role of Foundations".

If you are interested in statistical information on the charity sector you might want to either look at our Canadian charity statistics directory or visit www.charitydata.ca which has information on over 84,000 Canadian registered charities.
