An introduction to moving money globally: Strategies for International Development Organizations

This presentation will cover currency cost and risk cutting strategies for organizations involved in international work. Topics will include key indicators to watch when working in international markets, which financial products/services could benefit a business and finally how to develop a hedging strategy to reduce the impact of currency volatility. These subjects will be summarized with the use of case studies to tie everything together.

Marc Racette is the Manager of Accounts for OFX since Jan 2015. He has 8+ years’ experience in the FX industry focused on servicing corporate entities and charitable organizations in North America. Prior to joining OFX, Marc started his career abroad working for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai where he helped Canadian businesses navigate the Chinese market. Marc holds a Masters of Global affairs degree from the Munk School of Global Affairs and a BBA in Economics from the University of Toronto.

Jean-Francois Giguere is the FX Hedging Director for OFX since Jan 2023. He has 19+ years’ experience in the FX industry focused on servicing hedging clients (Institutional and Corporate) in North America. Prior to joining OFX, JF was the FX Dealing Manager at Western Union Business Solutions (rebranded to Convera) managing their large US corporate client’s base, and the FX Trading Manager at Penson Financial Services Inc providing hedging solutions and execution services to Institutional clients. JF earned his BBA in Economics from Georgia College & State University while on an athletic (Tennis) scholarship and holds his Certificate in Derivatives Market Strategies from the Canadian Securities Institute.
